Why Does the Government Pick on Exxon?
Of all the oil stocks to hate the government sure does love to hate Exxon-Mobile. Sure they had the famous spill and they make record smashing profits every singe quarter, but they get mentioned in more presidential and senate speeches I swear than any other company. They paid all the courts told them to for their spill and they pay enormous amounts of tax money into our system. Shouldn’t we as a capitalist society love that Exxon makes huge amounts of money. I can still drive from one side of this state to the other for $30 of gas. This company isn’t gouging me all that bad. Imagine the effort and planning to do the same feat 100 years ago. This stock will continue to do well as long as we don’t get greedy and shoot ourselves in the foot.
