Which Tennis Elbow Exercises?
When you develop tennis elbow, you don’t really feel like doing any exercises at all and it’s quite understandable when you feel the pain that you go through just to move your arm. But what about tennis elbow exercises to make you better? To help heal your arm? Here we are going to talk about some great ways to help you tennis elbow, relieve the pain and get you moving once again.
Tennis elbow is the swelling and injury of the tendons in your elbow. To begin with you should rest your joint and give the swelling time to calm down. You can help this along by taking some painkillers that have an anti-inflammatory affect or you could use ice (wrapped in a towel) and apply that directly to the area. Once the swelling has gone down and you have got the pain under control, you can begin to deal with the movement.
Exercises that involve starting small and working your way up are a good way to recondition your arm into exercise. Start by gently lifting things such as the newspaper, then move onto a cup, then the kettle, etc. Using things you can find at home will make you more likely to try different objects. Remember that if any of the objects are too heavy then find something else instead of persisting with that one item. If you think that you have done these exercises and still feel that there is a problem that you can’t seem to get rid of then seek the advice of a physiotherapist. They are trained to deal with these sorts of injuries and can give you some exercises to do at home as well as some with you in the clinic. You could also see your doctor for some support and guidance as they can prescribe some medications and gels for tennis elbow treatment that will help.
