One good way to start is by creating a list of questions about your outdoor environment. How much space can you give to outdoor furniture without crowding your family and guests? Will the furniture be exposed to weather, or sheltered under a cover of some sort? Will it have cushions and if so, what fabric should they be covered in?

Will you need to move your outdoor dining furniture frequently? If so, then you’ll probably prefer one of the lighter materials such as plastic or aluminum. If your setting will be more permanent, then you can try heavier materials such as wrought iron or teak.  But you can?t go wrong if you stick with quality furniture.
