Classic watches are valued for many reasons. For many people watches are valued for their sentimental value. One of their ancestors purchases a wristwatch that has since been passed down through the family. Whether you are wearing it or just looking at it, it can provide a connection between yourself and a long-lost relative.

But, many people collect these watches and they are valued at a great deal of money. For a watch to be valuable it generally must have a unique design, lots of complications, innovative technology for the time period it was made, and have a timeless design. If all these are true, a watch can be considered a classic and valued accordingly. It helps for a watch to be old, but it is not necessary for a watch to be incredibly old for it to be valued as a classic.
