Starting Your Baby on Solid Foods
Another thing to consider when starting your baby on solid food is that babies have to actually learn to eat and chew. They does not automatically happen when food is put into the mouth. Just like other stages, your baby will cue you when ready to begin learning to eat. Beginning solid foods too soon has been linked to causing food allergies and possibly environmental as well. The stomach and intestinal tract are not prepared to process solid food yet either. Avoiding dairy products when breastfeeding may contribute in helping prevent allergies as well. Giving organic or no allergenic formula and monitoring your diet if breast feeding can also prevent some allergies. Taking care to monitor these things can make the baby feeding process much easier.
