I read a news article the other day about an employee who is suing his employer because he was disciplined for having a visible tattoo.  The employee had worked at that particular place for many years and had always had tattoos.  The employer had never complained about his tattoos and this employee has always been a good worker.

The problem occurred when a customer wrote a letter to the company stating that they had were offended by the tattoos.  Apparently the tattoos were on his forearm and had some sort of cultural significance.  Details are not clear about what the significance is.  The company offered to pay for his tatoo removal but the employee doesn’t want to have them removed.  The employee’s attourney is confident that he will win in court.
