Metal Building construction
Metal building construction is a very interesting and time efficient process. Some small metal building kits can be erected as quickly as just a few days with an experienced crew. All of the components are prepared at the factory, such as all bolt holes are pre-drilled, all welding done, everything is laid out in the blue prints.
First the footers and foundation of the site must be prepared. Once that is finished, then the metal building is inventoried and layout for erection. The main piers are lifted into position and bolted to the footers. Next the main roof trusses are laid out and bolted together at the peak (if required- some are one piece all the way one side to the other). Then the truss is lifted to the top of the piers and bolted to the top of the pier. After all of the trusses are lifted, then the purloins are bolted to the frame and the building takes form.
After the superstructure is finished, then the metal siding is cut to fit and installed with self tapping screws. After the sides are finished, then the roof metal is cut and screwed down.
Then next step is to install all doors and windows. And finally all the trim is put on the building.
