Laser Liposuction and Side Effects

Laser liposuction offers all the benefits of traditional liposuction with minimal side effects. This has to do with both the technique of the method and the scale of the procedure. Laser liposuction is performed with smaller tools which require a small incision to remove the fat cells from a particular area of the body. A fiber optic needle is inserted next to the fat cells in the area and heat generated by the laser literally melts the fat. The tube used to suck the fat from the area is smaller than the tool used in traditional liposuction. A smaller incision means a lowered chance of risking infection to the treated area and other side effects common to liposuction are also significantly reduced. For example, bleeding is a common problem in liposuction but with the laser technique there is less damage done to surrounding tissues including blood vessels.
