Is an MLM a Scam?
Without a doubt, one of the best ways to make money from Google is to take your website and submit to Google. While it can get complicated from there, if you happen to take one of the first page results, you’ll be in business for a while.
Typing in any phrase nowadays will get you ads for all sorts of money making products. You can type in “vacuum” and come up with ads lining the side of your results telling you that you can make money selling vacuums through a company that has a tried and true method guaranteed not to fail. Most of these companies are MLM or multi-level-marketing companies. While they were quite popular a while back, their popularity is starting to wane since people are realizing that they way they’re set up isn’t exactly fair.
In order to be successful in MLM, you have to be able to recruit others who are going to work just as hard as you do. You can easily get someone to join your business under you, but are they going to do any work? If you recruit 20 people and none of them do anything aside from buy their way in, you’re still stuck where you were in the first place. Meanwhile, the people on top are profiting from your efforts. Some of them are making six figures a week because of the efforts of people below them, and they don’t care how hard you’re struggling, as long as you’re still working to get yourself to where they are now.
Needless to say, this is hardly fair. And this has caused people to claim that MLM is a scam. But is this really true? Not necessarily. While the way it’s set up is hardly profitable for those on the bottom, keep in mind that some of your efforts are being rewarded. If it were truly a scam, you wouldn’t be making any type of money at all. But put in those terms, you have to wonder if it’s truly worth buying into in the first place.
