How To Have A Super Mario Birthday Party
Super Mario never seems to fade from popularity. Every time something new and cool captures the minds of young kids, another great Super Mario game comes out and turns that around. I had a Mario birthday party when I was a kid, and now I just had one for my kid! It’s incredible! I want to share with you what we did so you can plan a successful birthday party yourself.
The biggest part of our party was the scavenger hunt. I bought some small plastic Mario knick-knacks from Amazon and had my friend hide them in the park that’s right next to our house. Everyone had a list of what to search for, and the winner got a big Yoshi stuffed animal (dinosaur? lizard? whatever he/she is). My son wasn’t thrilled about the fact that someone else got a present on his birthday, but he quickly got over it. The stuff to hide is really easy to find on the internet, and you don’t even have to have Mario related stuff.
Our party was fairly small (only seven kids) so after the scavenger hunt, we came home and played the new Mario game for Wii. Four kids can play at once, so they all took turns playing levels and stomping on each other. It was a hit!
Since there really isn’t anything food-related in the games, except mushrooms and I don’t know a kid that will eat mushrooms, we had pizza. Nothing fancy, just a quick meal.
Cake was a whole different story. My wife bought a Super Mario cake pan from the internet and spent all day decorating it. These pans were last made when I had my Mario birthday party, so it cost a bit more than a brand new pan would have, but it was well worth it. The cake turned out fantastic and was a total hit!
So the keys to a great party are outside games, video games, easy food, and a fantastic cake. That’s all there is to it, and you can host an awesome Super Mario birthday party!
