Gold Plating For Cheap Jewelry
The process of gold plating jewelry is where a thin layer of real gold is used to cover up an inferior metal and make it look more beautiful and to seem like it have more value than it really should. This process is used to create costume jewelry which consumers buy to get their hands on some cheap jewelry that they know will not last forever but which serves it purpose perfectly at the cost involved.
Electricity is used in this process of gold plating which is known as electroplating. In the process your cheap metal jewelry is placed in a vat along with a toxic solution in which gold has been dissolved. When electricity is passed through the solution the gold is attracted to the metal object and forms a uniform plating to give the appearance of real gold.
