As technology seems to progress at ever increasing speed, it isn’t uncommon to find that the top of the line, cutting edge computer that you bought two years ago is already becoming obsolete. Power cords are usually the first thing to go in an electronic device. Even though they are malleable, the simple fact that you have to wind it up each time you decide to move your computer means that eventually it is going to be the first to go. Even with proper care and handling, it is all too common to have your cord accidentally ripped out of your computer or punctured when your friends dog decides to use it as a chew toy. Buying an extra universal power supply is a wise investment even if your laptop power cord isn’t damaged. Simple logic will show you that if you use two different objects for the same task, it will take twice as long for each object to wear down to the point of breakage. If your power supply is broken, or even if it isn’t, when you get a spare power cord that can work in several types of laptop or notebook computer, the spare that you buy today will also end up serving as a spare for future laptops when you decide to upgrade. You can’t go wrong buying one or more of these things as they will certainly pay for themselves later on down the road when your stock cord decides to give out just when you need your computer the most.
You can’t escape the convenience of having a universal power cord. I keep one in my car with me at all times. This saves me from having to wind up the stock one that stays at my house. I know that this is going to pay for itself later on down the line. First, both cords receive even less wear and tear because Im not winding and kinking them up so often, also I know that when it comes time to upgrade my laptop — I will still have a spare cord!
