In all you can have your certificate in about 15 months though you can finish this faster as long as you demonstrate your proficiency and learn the material well. You will have information available online as well as actual text books that you will need.
Colorado Technical University also offers online medical billing classes and you can chose to learn as all classes or on an asynchronous schedule. The university uses several different types of media for learning.
Besides getting a certificate you can also get an associates or bachelors degree in medical billing. Some universities that offer these programs include Kaplan University, DeVry University, Everest University and the University of Phoenix. These programs are all flexible so you chose how much you want to work or how long you will take before graduating.
