Earning Money on Festivals
Festivals are common in many parts of the world. Though not exactly on the same dates, different localities always celebrate different kinds of festivities. A lot of people always show up to these events, even if it is just a carnival, Halloween, or a hot air balloon festival. If it’s a festival, you can always expect a lot of people and more often than not, they are prepared to spend a few bucks in exchange for entertainment or mementos.
The good thing about people in these events is that, more often than not, they would want to keep something that would remind them about what happened. A picture of the perfect moment would be a very good souvenir. This is where the earning potential comes in. If you have your own digital camera and printer, one of those small travel printers, you can easily set up your very own picture booth. It would also help if you had your own computer but it is not a prerequisite. Although, it would be a good idea to show the pictures first on-screen before making prints. And of course, you should have your supply of photo paper.
Now that you have your tools for the trade, what comes next is the strategy. It would be more convenient to have a partner in this operation. One of you should be stationed in the booth, or what you would call your printing station. He should be ready enough to receive all the pictures you have taken as well as entertain the ones who are about to have their pictures printed.
The accomplice should be going around the place taking pictures. A good tip would be to look for couples. They are the ones that would usually want the memories in print. Once you take the picture, make sure they know that you took the pictures. Though candid pictures usually have more value since the emotions are more authentic, it would have no value to you if you can’t sell it. Then you can leave a card with your “booth name” and location and if they want the pictures, they can have them printed there.
As with all festivities, there is always a featured highlight or usually called the main event. This is a very good venue to get the pictures since it is what people came there to see. A picture of them with the event as a background would be considered a great souvenir.
You could also watch out for people that have mobile phones with cameras. You could leave them your card telling them that you could have those pictures printed in your booth. At this point, it would be important to note that your printer should have wireless capability in order for you to offer this service. A good example would be the Canon IP100. It features Infrared or Bluetooth interface that enables you to print without the need of a computer. The camera however needs to be infrared or Bluetooth enabled for this to work.
This is just one of many ways to earn in these kinds of events. You just need to be creative enough to realize the earning potential.
