Coffee Table Tips
The first thing to think about is size. Before you go to a store, consider proportion: you don’t want to pick a table that is out of proportion to its surroundings or vice versa. Whichever shape you pick, look for a coffee table that is around the same height as the seat of your sofa. This will make a horizontal line that helps tie the room together.
A coffee table should not be exposed to moisture. Wood, especially unsealed wood, is particularly vulnerable, but almost any material can develop water rings if a cup is left out for too long. Use coasters!
To make your table even more versatile, look for one that has extra leaves on the sides. That way, each leaf can add to the main section by holding a book, collectible, remote, etc. Your guests can also use the leaves to rest their plates. Looking for more coffee table info?
