Choose the right style of lamp
Many people do not realize but lamps can play a very important part in your home decor, as well as providing stylish and functional lighting to a designated area. My putting some thought into the type of lamp you buy, you can go a long way in adding some style and taste to Home Décor.
When you’re looking at lamps that will add a functional as well as decorative element to your home you do not have to look any further than floor lamps. A pair of matching and stylish floor lamps can add a special element to any room’s decor, as well as provide functional lighting to the area. Floor lamps usually have big bases with long bodies, and lots of different shades. You can also choose if you want regular, or up – lighting in a floor lamp. Up – lighting provide something different to any area, and is well worth considering if you want to add a special element to any home decor.
On the other end of the spectrum as far as lamps are considered are desk lamps that provide purely functional lighting to a nightstand or desk. A well-chosen, desk lamp and provide lighting for reading while not disturbing your partner. Lighting provided by a desk lamp is also much easier on your eyes for reading and working.
For a modern or contemporary home a Tiffany style lamp is usually the best choice. These lamps can be purchased with lots of different shades manufactured out of glass, or even crystal. If you live in the more conservative and traditional home then an antique lamp might be the best choice for you. A well-chosen genuine antique lamp can add a special element to your home decor.
