Basics of a Baby Bath

The truth about bathing your baby, is that they do not need daily washes like adults do.  The most important thing is to keep their faces, necks, and diaper areas clean.

At first, a sponge bath is plenty for your baby, and probably the safest.  In order to keep your sponge bath baby comfortable, just keep rubbing them with water continuously throughout the bath and do not let them sit wet exposed to air.

The two biggest dangers with baby baths are burning and drowning.  As horrible as it is, it does happen accidentally all the time.  So please use common sense.  Test the water, and it does not need to be very warm – just comfortable.  Secondly, a coupe inches of water is plenty.  The baby will get wet by you pouring the water on them (not on the face of course!) and not by being submerged.
