Backpacking the World
For many expats and world travelers, the most enjoyable part of living life on the road or out of a travel backpack is the spontaneity and randomness of living life without a solid plan or destination. While it’s true that many travelers painstakingly plan every facet of their journey – buying books promising everything from Asia travel tips to how to save money while backpacking through Europe – the truth is that these folks often regret the rigidity and needless level of formality their planning forces onto their travels. For most, a trip is a chance to get away from everyday life and this almost always includes a desire to break routine and everyday behavior. With that in mind, why would anyone ever want to bring the stresses of a schedule or a strict plan with them on the road? I for one, if I ever return to international travel, would be sure to leave the itineraries and day planners at home and take my chances with my wits and whatever my travels throw at me.
