A Supply Chain To Rule Them All
A company looking to add profitability to their business may not need look much further than their supply chain. There are many ways to trim what can sometimes be an overweight chain. Some of these ways include working on the overall process to reduce the amount of time needed to fulfilling a complete pass through the supply chain. Another could be reducing the amount of time for distribution, decreasing the amount of people needed to complete the chain, or reducing or reusing the waste/byproducts of the supply chain.
If successful in improving this process, then the company might call this a lean supply chain. As the name implies, a lean supply chain is one that has been managed to the point of having little to no waste of time, resources, and capital. If successfully converted, a lean supply chain will be reflected on the profitability of a company each month and throughout the year.
